Description of stemless Potentilla

Stemless cinquefoil is a perennial herb, endowed with a stem, the height of which will be only about one to five centimeters. It is noteworthy that such a stem will not be longer than the basal leaves; such stems are slender, simple and few in number. The stems of Potentilla stemless will be endowed with one to three flowers, they are covered with bulging, bristly and long hairs. The root leaves of this plant are trifoliate, short petiolate and quite numerous. The stem leaves of Potentilla stemless will be sessile, simple and rather strongly reduced, and besides this, such leaves are also densely tomentose-stellate with an admixture of longer hairs. The diameter of the flowers of this plant will be about ten to seventeen millimeters, and the petals themselves will be painted in golden yellow tones. The fruits of Potentilla stemless are wrinkled and rather large in size.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from August to September. In natural conditions, stemless cinquefoil can be found in Central Asia, the Amur region in the Far East, as well as in Western and Eastern Siberia. For growth, this plant prefers rocky slopes, steppes, steppe meadows, foothills, saline sandstones and places along the edges of pine forests.

Description of the medicinal properties of stemless Potentilla

Stemless cinquefoil is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes flowers, stems and leaves. It is recommended to harvest such raw materials throughout the entire flowering period.

The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of tannins in the composition of this plant, while in the aerial part of the stemless cinquefoil, coumarins are present in the form of ellagic acid, as well as the following flavonoids: glycosides of kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin.

It is noteworthy that the stemless cinquefoil is endowed with a very valuable antibacterial activity. The decoction, prepared on the basis of the roots and herbs of this plant, is recommended for colitis, gastritis, diarrhea and gastrointestinal colic, and besides this, it is also a hemostatic and astringent agent.

As a strengthening agent, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on stemless cinquefoil: for the preparation of such a remedy, three tablespoons of the crushed dry herb of this plant are taken. Such raw materials should be infused for about one hour in two glasses of boiling water in a tightly sealed container, after which the resulting mixture is filtered very carefully. The obtained healing agent is taken on the basis of stemless cinquefoil three times a day in a warm form, one third of a glass.

In case of pulmonary tuberculosis, it is recommended to prepare the following remedy based on stemless cinquefoil: for the preparation of such a remedy, three teaspoons of the roots of this plant are taken, which should be boiled in one glass of water. The resulting healing mixture should be infused for about two hours, after which this mixture is filtered very carefully. Such a remedy is taken on the basis of stemless cinquefoil thirty minutes before the start of a meal four times a day, two tablespoons.
