Point bell (lat. Campanula punctata) - a herbaceous perennial plant with large drooping flowers, located on long pedicels, belonging to the genus Bell (lat. Campanula) of the family of the same name Bellflower (lat. Campanulaceae). The plant is winter hardy. All aerial parts of the plant are covered with pubescence. In some countries, flowers and leaves are eaten and also used for medicinal purposes.
What's in your name
The dotted bell owes its name to its bell-shaped flowers and numerous purple dotted spots on its flower petals, both outside and inside the bell. In English-language literature, the spotted bellflower is called "Spotted bellflower", that is, Spotted bellflower. These purple dots are clearly visible in the following photo:
Description
Bellflower is a herbaceous perennial plant in which aerial parts die off at the end of the summer growing season. The perennial of the plant is supported by a fibrous thin rhizome, which is very aggressively conquering new territories. From the rhizome to the surface of the earth, an erect, rough stem from pubescence is born, rising to a height of forty to seventy centimeters. The upper part of the stem is branchy.
Leaves are subdivided into basal and stem leaves. Basal petiole leaves form dense rosettes, covering the surface of the earth with a thick carpet. They have an ovoid-elongated shape with a sharp nose and reddish petioles. The petiole and leaves are covered with hairs. The reverse side of the leaf plate due to pubescence of a paler color. Leaves on the stem can have short petioles, or do without them, turning into sessile ones on the stem. The shape of the stem leaves is the same as that of the basal leaves. The edge of the leaf plate in all leaves is serrate-crenate, the veins are clearly expressed, which makes the leaves very decorative.
Flowering lasts the entire summer period. Large drooping flowers are colored from white to pale pink. Inside the flower, against a pale background, red-violet specks-dots are clearly distinguished, from which whitish hairs stick out. Flowers are hermaphrodites, that is, both the female and male organs of the plant (pistil and stamens) are in the same flower. Long peduncle, flower calyx of sepals covered with white hairs.
The fruit of the Dot bellflower is a drooping three-celled capsule filled with small seeds.
Areal of Spotted Bellflower
In the wild, the spotted bell is found in China, Korea, Japan and in Eastern Siberia, where it grows on sunny mountain slopes, along river banks, and also in rare deciduous forests. In Korea it is called "Cholong ggot", which means "Lantern Flower".
In the United States of America, the spotted bell is grown as an ornamental plant.
Usage
Large flowers and beautiful leaves of Spotted bellflower make the plant very attractive for gardeners. Breeders have bred varieties that differ in the particularly large size of the plant itself, plus the colorful color of large flowers that form spectacular and bright racemose inflorescences.
For example, the Cherry Bells variety from the Missouri Botanical Garden, shown in the photo, is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent:
For the favorable growth of the spotted bell, fertile, well-drained soil is required; sunny place; regular watering and shelter for the winter, if the winter promises to be with little snow.
The flowers and leaves of Spotted bellflower taste sweet, and therefore are used in Asian dishes. In addition, in some Asian countries, they are used as medicinal herbs.

Six-point Leafhopper - A Dangerous Gourmet
The six-point leafhopper lives almost everywhere, damaging a huge number of a wide variety of crops: beets, millet, rye, perennial legumes, wheat, sunflowers, oats, buckwheat, corn and barley. Harmful leafhoppers in a fairly short time suck life-giving sap from the leaves, as a result of which the growing crops gradually discolor, weaken and wither. Moreover, not only the larvae, but also the imago of six-spotted leafhoppers can harm. They also contribute to
