Under natural conditions, this plant is found in Western Siberia, the Caucasus, the Baltic states, the European part of Russia, as well as the Carpathians in Ukraine. For growth, the entire cotoneaster prefers stony slopes, rocks, talus, places along river valleys, from the lower mountain to the upper mountain belt.
Description of the medicinal properties of the whole cotoneaster
The whole-edged cotoneaster is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the fruits, leaves and branches of this plant. The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of a cyanogenic compound called prunazine in the branches, and phenol carboxylic acid and its derivatives: flavonoids and chlorogenic acid will be present in the leaves. The fruits of this plant contain vitamin C.
As for Tibetan medicine, this plant is quite widespread here, from which a decoction of wood is often prepared. This remedy is recommended for use in neurasthenia, neuritis and gastroenteritis. As for traditional medicine, a decoction is widespread here, which is prepared on the basis of the branches of the whole-edged cotoneaster, as well as a decoction of the leaves. Such rather effective remedies should be used for jaundice and ascites.
As for the fruits of this plant, they are effective when taken orally for dysentery and diarrhea. It is noteworthy that the fruits of the whole-edged cotoneaster will be edible in its raw form.
For cystitis and diarrhea, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on whole-edged cotoneaster: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take twelve grams of chopped dry branches in one glass of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for six to seven minutes over very low heat, after which the mixture is left to infuse for two hours, then such a mixture based on the whole cotoneaster should be filtered very carefully. Take the resulting product based on this plant one third of a glass three times a day. It is important to remember that in order to ensure the greatest efficiency when taking such a remedy based on this plant, one should strictly observe not only all the norms for the preparation of such a remedy, but also all the rules of admission.
For jade, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on this plant: for preparation, you will need to take three tablespoons of dry crushed leaves in two glasses of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for six to seven minutes, and then it is infused for two hours and filtered thoroughly. Such a remedy is taken on the basis of a whole-edged cotoneaster, one fourth of a glass three times a day before the start of a meal.
