In young trees, the bark is smooth and endowed with rather large tiled thorns, and their base will be greatly expanded. On young shoots of Kalopanax seven-lobed, the length of the thorns can be about two centimeters. The leaves of this plant are long-petiolate, the petioles at the very base will be expanded and will cover the stem. The petioles are bare, and their length can reach thirty centimeters. The leaves of this plant are painted in dark green tones, from above they will be bare, and from below, at the very base of the main veins, the presence of slight pubescence is noted. The leaf edges of this plant will be slightly serrate. The flowers of Kalopanax seven-lobed are in globular umbrellas, and such flowers are also collected in rather large inflorescences, the diameter of which will be about thirty centimeters. The flowers of this plant are painted in yellowish-white tones, and in size they will be quite small. The fruits of this plant are painted in black tones, they are very juicy and spherical in shape, and also endowed with two seeds.

The leaves will bloom in the second half of May, and the flowering of the plant begins in August, while the fruits will ripen in late September and early October. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Far East: in the south of Sakhalin, in the south of Primorsky Krai and in the Southern Kuriles. In terms of general distribution, the plant can be found in China, Korea and Japan.

In addition, this plant is recommended for toothache, ringworm, scabies, ulcers, infected wounds and various skin diseases.

Preparations based on the bark of Kalopanax seven-bladed can increase the secretion of gastric juice, and will also increase its acidity. Fresh leaves of this plant can be applied to infected wounds.
