Water softwood is one of the plants of the family called cloves, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Myosoton aquatiqum (L.) Moench. (Malachium aquatiqum (L. Tries, Stellaria aquatica (L.)). As for the name of the family of the aquatic softwood itself, in Latin it will be like this: Caryophyllaceae Juss.

Description of aquatic softwood

The waterweed is a perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between twenty and seventy centimeters. All this plant in its upper part will be glandular-pubescent, and in the lower part it is naked. The stem of the aquatic softwood will be ascending and simple, however, most often at the top it can be branched. The leaves of this plant will be ovoid, their length is three to eight centimeters, and the width will be about one to four centimeters. The upper leaves are sessile, while the lower leaves will be on rather short petioles. The inflorescence of this plant is a spreading half-umbel, while the bracts will be leaf-shaped and green. The length of the pedicels of this plant will be about one to two and a half centimeters, the petals will be painted in white tones and they will be about one and a half to two times longer than the calyx itself. The seeds of the waterweed are colored in dark brown tones, they will be flat and rounded kidney-shaped.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from July to November. In natural conditions, the water softwood is found on the territory of the European part of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Kamchatka in the Far East, as well as in Western and Eastern Siberia. For growth, this plant prefers damp meadows, places along river banks and near ditches, and sometimes the plant can also be found near dwellings.

Description of the medicinal properties of water softwood

The water softwood is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of the following flavonoids in the composition of this plant: avroside, vitexin, isoneauroside, isovitexin, isoneovitexin, neovitexin, neoauroside and isoauroside.

As for traditional medicine, here healing agents based on this plant are quite widespread. The infusion, prepared on the basis of the herb of softwood water, is recommended to be used for eczema, various eye diseases, for skin lesions and purulent sore throats.

For various skin diseases, eczema, blepharitis and conjunctivitis, it is recommended to use the following healing agent based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take three tablespoons of crushed dry herb of softwood water for two glasses of boiling water. It is recommended to infuse the resulting healing mixture for about one to two hours, and then it is very important to strain this mixture thoroughly. It is noteworthy that such a drug based on water softwood is quite permissible to use for rinsing the throat, and for all of the above diseases, lotions should be used. It should be noted that in order to ensure the greatest efficiency when using such a healing agent, it is very important, but only to follow all the rules for its preparation, as well as to comply with all the norms for taking such a healing agent based on water softwood.
