Description of spicy milkweed

Spicy euphorbia is a perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between twenty and seventy centimeters. The root of this plant is thin-cylindrical and creeping, as well as branched and endowed with long offspring. Milkweed stalks will be round, naked, striped and erect, at the top they will be endowed with from one to twenty-three axillary peduncles, which are most often curved. The length of such peduncles will be about one and a half to seven and a half centimeters, below the stems will be endowed with leafy and subsequently elongating branches, which in turn are non-flowering. The lower leaves of the pungent milkweed will be scaly and dry, the stem leaves can be either barely petiolate or sessile, they will grow from a gradually tapering base. The leaves of this plant at the top will be jagged, they are bare, soft and subsequently protruding, they are painted in dull green tones from above, and they will be bluish below. Such leaves of this plant are directed upwards and they are located on non-flowering branches, the length of which is seven to twenty millimeters, and the width will be about two to two and a half millimeters. There are about eight to thirteen apical peduncles of the euphorbia, their length is about one and a half to six centimeters, as well as axillary peduncles, they can be either simple or once or twice bipartite at the very end.

The leaflets of the envelope are oblong-ovate or linear-lanceolate, their length is one to three centimeters, and their width is about one and a half to three and a half centimeters. A glass of spicy milkweed is bell-shaped, its diameter and length are equal to two to two and a half millimeters, it will be endowed with truncated, short and fringed blades. The nectars of this plant can be colored both green and yellow, but later they will turn brown. Such nectaries are short-horned, but often they are almost hornless. Three-eared milkweed will be ovoid, its length is two and a half to three and a half millimeters, it is naked and deeply three-grooved. The seed of this plant is ovoid, it is smooth and colored in yellow-brown tones, and also endowed with a kidney-shaped appendage, also colored in yellow tones.

The flowering of spicy milkweed occurs in the period from June to the month of August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine, the European part of Russia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Western and Eastern Siberia.

Description of the medicinal properties of spicy milkweed

Spicy euphorbia is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the herb, roots and milky juice of this plant. Grass includes flowers, leaves and stems.

The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of rubber, alkaloids, milky juice, resins, higher fatty acids, diterpenoids, phenolcarboxylic gallic acid, resins, higher aliphatic carbohydrates and many other useful substances in the composition of this plant.

An ointment based on the powder of the herb of this plant is used for external tumors. Milky juice of hot milkweed should be used to remove corns and warts, and in a mixture with sulfur, such juice is used for scabies and leishmaniasis.
