Argemon poppy buds are oblong, their length reaches about fifteen millimeters. The flowers of this plant are painted in red tones, the box will be clavate-cylindrical, but upward it is most often somewhat expanded, and the length of such a box reaches twenty millimeters.

Argemon poppy blooms during the period from May to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the European part of Russia in the Black Sea and Baltic regions, as well as in the Crimea, the Carpathians and the Dnieper region in Ukraine. For growth, this plant prefers fields, sandy soils, rocky places and fallow lands as a weed.

Description of the medicinal properties of poppy argemon

Argemon poppies are endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the petals of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties of this plant should be explained by the content in its composition of the following alkaloids: reagenin, readin, coptisine, protopin, isoreadin, papaverubin A and papaverubin B and D. Cyanidins A and B, as well as pelargonidins A were found in the petals of this plant. and C. It is noteworthy that in Israel, infusion and syrup prepared on the basis of argemon poppy are recommended to be used as a very effective diaphoretic.
