Lanceolate stellate is one of the plants of the family called cloves, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Stellaria holostea L. As for the name of the family of lanceolate starlet itself, in Latin it will be like this: Caryophyllaceae Juss.

Description of lanceolate stellate

Lanceolate stellate is also known under the following popular names: forest stellate, heart grass, yaskorka and haveda. Lanceolate stellate is a perennial herb endowed with a creeping, branched rhizome, the height of which will fluctuate between fifteen and forty centimeters. The stems of this plant are tetrahedral, smooth, brittle and erect, and at the top they will be branched. The leaves of the lanceolate stellate will be quite sharp, they are lanceolate, and along the edges and the midrib they are rough. The flowers of this plant are painted in white tones, they are rather small in size and are located in sparse inflorescences, and such flowers are also found on long pubescent pedicels. The sepals will be ovate-lanceolate in shape, they are sharp, and their length is about seven to ten millimeters. The petals of this plant are twice as long as the calyx, and up to half they will be bipartite. The fruit of the lanceolate starlet is a spherical capsule, which is shorter than the calyx.

The flowering of lanceolate stellate occurs in the month of May. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the European part of Russia, with the exception of only the Far North, as well as in the Ukraine and the Caucasus, in Belarus and in Western Siberia. For growth, the plant prefers mainly deciduous forests and places among shrubs. It should be remembered that this plant is also poisonous.

Description of the medicinal properties of lanceolate stellate

Lanceolate stellate is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the herb and juice of this plant. The concept of grass includes leaves, stems and flowers of lanceolate starlet. Such raw materials should be harvested in the period from May to June.

It should be noted that the chemical composition of this plant has not been sufficiently studied yet. However, it has been proven that lanceolate stellate has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular effects. For coughs, pain in the extremities with colds, as well as pain in the joints and stomach, for rheumatism and heart disease, it is recommended to use an infusion prepared on the basis of the herb of this plant.

A strong aqueous infusion and decoction of the herb of this plant, as well as the juice of lanceolate starlet should be used for numerous skin diseases, especially with scabies. It is important to remember that special care should be taken when using this plant internally, due to the fact that the plant is poisonous.

For bronchitis, coughs, colds and stomach pains, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on lanceolate stellate: to prepare this remedy, you will need to take one teaspoon of dry herb for one glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be left to infuse for one hour, and then it should be very thoroughly filtered. Take the resulting product based on lanceolate starlet three times a day twenty to thirty minutes before the start of a meal.

For skin diseases, the following remedy is used in the form of lotions and washings: for its preparation, take four tablespoons of herbs and boil them in one liter of water, then insist for two hours and filter thoroughly.
