Cereal stellate is a perennial herb endowed with a thin creeping rhizome. The stems of this plant will be thin and tetrahedral, they are erect and branched, usually such stems can be endowed with well-developed shortened axillary shoots, the height of which will fluctuate between twenty and sixty centimeters. The leaves of this plant are opposite, they can be both lanceolate and linear, and linear-lanceolate. Along the edge at the very base, such leaves will be ciliate. The flowers of the stellate cereal are rather small, they are painted in white tones and are collected in a branched multi-flowered inflorescence. The fruit of this plant is an oblong capsule, which will be noticeably longer than the calyx.
The flowering of cereal stellate occurs in the period from May to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Russia, with the exception of only desert regions, as well as in Belarus, Ukraine and the Caucasus. For growth, the plant prefers meadows, fields, steppes and places among shrubs, and the plant can also be found along the banks of rivers and along the edges. It is noteworthy that cereal stellate is a poisonous plant, for this reason, extreme caution should be exercised in any handling of this plant.
Description of the medicinal properties of cereal starwort
Cereal stellate is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use exclusively the herb of this plant. The concept of grass includes leaves, flowers and stems of cereal starwort. Such raw materials should be harvested in the period from May to August.
It is noteworthy that the chemical composition of this plant has not yet been fully studied, for this reason, we can expect the emergence of new ways to use the valuable properties of the cereal starlet.
As for traditional medicine, a tincture prepared on the basis of the herb of this plant has been widely used here. It is recommended to use such a tincture of the herb stellate cereal in the form of drops for coughing, and also as a pain reliever for a variety of pains in the intestines and in the stomach. Also, the crushed herb of cereal starwort has received widespread use: this herb should be used for poultices with various abscesses. It should be noted that the internal use of products based on cereal starwort will require extreme caution, which is due to the fact that the plant itself is poisonous.
