Brunner blooms in the month of April. Brunner is a perennial plant that can form incredibly beautiful and lush thickets, consisting of fairly wide leaves, which will be strewn with small blue flowers and collected in inflorescences. Brunner is very reminiscent of forget-me-not, in fact, this similarity is due to the origin from the same family called Borage.

Brunner is considered a rather unpretentious garden plant, which is able to fit favorably into any landscape with its appearance, filling it with new bright and juicy colors. It is noteworthy that Brunner's leaves are very heart-shaped in shape. We can safely say that this plant is a real find for gardeners. Brunner will look very beneficial in a slight darkening, and besides this, also next to a pond in the garden.

So, brunner is a herbaceous rhizome perennial. Plants of the Burachnikov family are very similar to each other, so you can find many similarities between Brunner and other flowers.

In garden culture, the following types of this plant have received the most frequent use: large-leaved brunner and Siberian brunner. The mountains of the Caucasus are considered the birthplace of large-leaved brunners. This species is a rather low spreading bush, the height of which will not exceed forty centimeters, and the leaves will be endowed with long petioles and very small blue flowers, very similar in shape to stars. The flowering of such a brunner begins approximately in April and lasts a month, and sometimes the plant can bloom again in the autumn period of time, and at the end of July the plant ripens black small seeds. It is noteworthy that in one place Brunners can grow for about ten to fifteen years. The shade considers the most optimal conditions for the normal development of this plant; in this case, the brunner will not lose its attractiveness until the onset of frost. Most often, only a few varieties of such brunner are used, which are distinguished by very beautiful variegated leaves and will be clothed in heart-shaped forms. For example, a variety called Variegata has leaves that have a white border, while Hudspan leaves have a creamy border, while Looking Glass and Jack Frost have a silvery leaf color.

However, the Siberian Brunner is still considered more popular. The flowering of this plant occurs in the month of May. Such brunners grow very well, turning over time into real thickets, consisting of very lush leaves and amazingly beautiful flowers.

Planting and caring for Brunner

So, as already mentioned, Brunners are considered quite unpretentious in care and the best confirmation of this may be that, having planted a small piece of rhizome in spring, the plant will bloom well and grow beautifully.

For the Siberian brunner, clay and moist soils are needed, this plant can be planted in the place near the wall of the house where water will drain from the roof during the rains. In the middle of summer, such a brunner may lose leaves, which is associated with a lack of moisture. In any case, it is recommended to cut off such leaves and already in August new ones will appear, which will last until the onset of frost.

The large-leaved brunner can grow in the shade and in the sun, but it needs regular and fairly abundant watering. In such a plant, the leaves retain their decorative effect throughout the summer, because they are constantly renewed. In a bouquet, any kind of brunner will look great, and such a bouquet can stand for a long amount of time unchanged.
