Belozor (lat. Parnassia) - perennial herb from the Euonymus family. Also, this plant is called Parnassian grass, white-flowered marsh, decaying grass, autumn or marsh stars. And the generic name was given by K. Linnaeus.
Description
Belozor is a bare perennial herb endowed with short rhizomes and fibrous roots. And the height of this plant can vary from eight to forty centimeters. The stalks of the belozor are most often simple, but sometimes branching stems can also be seen. Moreover, they can be both single and numerous.
The entire petiolate basal leaves of the belozor form bizarre rosettes, in addition, this plant also has sessile stem leaves devoid of stipules. And some varieties of white-bore can boast of the presence of stalk-enveloping leaves.
Incredibly spectacular little white flowers are located at the tips of the slender stalks of the white beetle. The flowering shoots of this handsome man are usually single, ribbed and equipped just below the middle with a single leaf. And the flowers of this plant are bisexual and single. These flowers always have five petals, sepals, and stamens. White-eye flower petals can be either equipped with fringed edges or whole-edged, but in any case they will be much longer than sepals, which can be welded or free. The peak of belozor decorativeness usually falls on the period from July to September.
The fruits of the whitefish have the appearance of a one-nesting three- or four-leafed box, inside which there is a truly incredible amount of small seeds attached to the walls. By the way, belozor is an insect pollinated plant.
Where grows
The main habitat of the belozor is the extratropical zone located in the Northern Hemisphere. This handsome man can be found even in the Arctic, but most often he can still be seen in the northwestern and eastern parts of North America. It is also found in Western Asia, as well as in the Mediterranean and a number of European countries.
All varieties of belozor grow in wet meadows or in swampy areas located in the highlands or lowlands. True, sometimes this plant can be seen in the mountains on relatively dry lawns - such a place of its dislocation always indicates the presence of groundwater.
Usage
Most often, belozor is used for planting near small or mini-reservoirs. In addition, it also looks great in the foreground in coastal flower beds.
Growing and caring
Best of all, the white-eye will feel either in the sun or in partial shade, on swampy or damp shores. Constantly damp (one might even say that waterlogged) shores are the most favorable conditions for the full development of the handsome belozor. As for the soil, this plant can grow well on any soils, however, peaty ones will still be the most preferable for it - the belozor grows especially magnificently on peaty acidic soils. At the same time, it is quite permissible to plant it immediately directly into the ground, without fear that it will grow excessively.
Belozor is an absolutely uncompetitive and very delicate plant, so it must be carefully protected from more active plants growing nearby. But this handsome man can boast of impressive winter hardiness! And the white-nose reproduces both by seeds and by dividing the bushes.
