Dendrobium noble - translated from Latin, this name means "living on a tree." Such plants belong to the most numerous genera of the Orchid family. Experts are of the opinion that there are more than a thousand types of dendrobium. It should be noted that the genus, in turn, is further subdivided into subgroups, which are called sections. At the same time, each section should be provided with very special care, it is almost impossible to give general recommendations here.

Very often on sale you can find two variants of this plant: moth dendrobium and noble dendrobium. It is quite easy to distinguish between them: the moth denbrobium is a thermophilic orchid that can be bought literally all year round. The peduncle appears from the very top of the shoot, the peduncle can bear up to twenty large flowers, which are practically not characterized by a smell.

Dendrobium noble has a peduncle with one to four flowers. In this case, the peduncles will cover almost the entire trunk of the plant. The aromas of such flowers are very pleasant.

For the first time dendrobium noble came to Europe from India in the nineteenth century, this period was called orchid fever. Already at that time, this plant was considered one of the most beautiful. In the modern world, many novice flower growers prefer this particular option for breeding.

When vigorous growth occurs, plants should be provided with maximum warmth and light. It will be great if you can put the orchid in the garden or on the open balcony for this period: in this case, the plant will receive the required amount of direct rays of the sun.

In the period from spring to August, the plant will need very abundant watering, but this should be done only after the soil in the pot is completely dry. It is also recommended to carry out regular feeding.

After August, watering should be slightly reduced, and the plant will no longer need fertilizer. At this time, the pot with the plant must be placed in the place where the sun is shining in full force. in the winter period of time, you should very carefully water the plant and this should be done quite rarely.

Transfer

It is recommended to transplant the plant in the spring. The soil should also not be compacted, but voids between the roots should also be avoided. The first watering should be done after about a week or even ten days. It is worth noting that the plant should be transplanted every two to three years.

Fertilizing dendrobium

When there is an active growth of the plant, it needs fertilizing, which are very important for the dendrobium. For those plants that require cold winters, fertilizers with a reduced nitrogen content are suitable.

Many experts recommend the following feeding system: when the plant is just starting to grow, it is given nitrogen fertilizers, where this element is found in large quantities. Further, only special fertilizers are used, or those in which there is no part of nitrogen.

Reproduction of dendrobium

The first way to reproduce this plant will be the division of a large bush. To do this, you will need to untangle the root ball and then cut it open. Moreover, each part of the so-called delenka should contain at least two ripe bulbs and a couple of young ones. Division in this way should be done immediately after flowering.

Another way is to separate the young plant from the adult. Experts advise to first observe the plant for about a year, and only next spring the baby is separated from the mother plant with a sharp scalpel, while it is necessary to capture a piece of the mother's bulb. In this case, flowering will begin in a year. Whichever method you choose, the main thing is to clearly follow all the instructions and then the result will never disappoint you.
