Baskets of small-flowered Galinsoga are numerous, they are found on thin legs of various lengths, as well as in loose semi-umbrellas. The width of such baskets will be about three to five millimeters, while the reed flowers reach about three millimeters in length. Achenes will be about one to one and a half millimeters long.
Small-flowered Galinsoga bloom begins in the month of July and continues until the autumn period. In natural conditions, this plant can be found in Belarus, Ukraine, the Caucasus, as well as in the Far East, Central Asia and the European part of Russia. For the growth of small-flowered Galinsoga prefers crops, meadow steppes, meadows, as well as gardens and orchards.
Description of the medicinal properties of small-flowered Galinsoga
Small-flowered Galinsoga is endowed with rather valuable medicinal properties; for medicinal purposes, it is recommended to use the roots and grass of this plant. Grass includes the leaves, flowers and stems of this plant.
Such valuable medicinal properties are due to the content of rubber and stigmasterol in the plant. The roots of this plant contain the following polyacetylene compounds: dihydrofalcarinone and falcarinone. In the leaves of small-flowered Galinsoga there are triterpene saponins, tannins, caffeic acid, flavonoids and inulin. It should be noted that in folk medicine, a decoction made from the herb of this plant, which is recommended to be used for goiter, ascites and anemia, is quite widespread. A decoction of the roots of small-flowered Galinsoga should be drunk with fever. Fresh grass of this plant is recommended to be chewed for stomatitis, gingivitis, scurvy and for damage to the oral mucosa. In the Far East, the small-flowered galinsogi herb is often used as a wound healing agent, as well as a hemostatic for uterine bleeding, and besides this, it is also an antihypertensive agent.
In case of ascites, the following remedy should be prepared: for its preparation, it is recommended to take one tablespoon of Galinsogi herb finely colored in one glass of water. Such a tool should be boiled for about three to four minutes over a fairly low heat, and then the resulting mixture should be infused for about one hour in a warm place. After that, the mixture should be thoroughly filtered. Take this remedy in one or two tablespoons.
The following remedy is also effective: for its preparation, one tablespoon of crushed dry roots of small-flowered Galinsoga is taken for one glass of water. This mixture should be boiled for about four to five minutes, and then left to infuse for about one hour, and then strain very thoroughly. Such a remedy should be taken one to two tablespoons three to four times a day in case of a fever. In addition, the remedy is also effective in the form of lotions as a wound healing agent.
