Asai (lat. Euterpe oleracea) - berry culture from the Palm family, the fruits of which are affectionately called the fountain of eternal youth, superfruit, pearl of Brazil, royal jewel, Amazon milk, etc.

Description

The trees on which the acai berries grow are called Asaizeiro. They are very tall palms (often their height reaches thirty meters), which are often called the tree of life and on which rather solid clusters of the most useful berries are formed. On average, each tree ripens from three to six kilograms of incredibly delicate berries throughout the season - so that they do not lose their presentation, they are harvested exclusively by hand.

Externally, acai berries are similar to grapes or blueberries - this is due to their dark purple color. True, sometimes there are also dark green or purple berries. As for the taste, opinions here are not so unambiguous - someone claims that the taste of acai berries resembles a forest blackberry, someone thinks that it looks like a raspberry, and someone even discovered its similarity to chocolate!

Where grows

The main place where acai berry palm trees grow is the territory of the Brazilian Amazon.

And with their help, you can quickly remove toxins, various toxic substances and toxins from the body, as well as recover much faster after surgery. And one more interesting feature - with too high mental or emotional overload, acai berries can easily replace chocolates and coffee! At the same time, it is important to take into account the fact that all the miraculous properties of acai berries are manifested to the greatest extent only in the first couple of hours, and after a day these berries lose their valuable qualities almost completely!

Acai wood is also actively used, and from its bark they not only make beautiful bags, but also weave hats, baskets and mats. Palm buds are often added to salads, and the Indians use the leaves to build the roof of their own huts.

Contraindications

There are currently no specific contraindications to the use of acai berries. However, the risk of developing allergic reactions cannot be ruled out. In any case, it is important not to forget that everything is good in moderation, and you should not abuse these juicy berries either.
